Valedictorian Recognized for the Class of 2019

This year's Valedictorian is Melody Ashley.  Melody is the daughter of Larry Ashley and Rhonda Ashley.  Melody was chosen as a Wendy's Heisman scholarship nominee, received the 110% awards as a sophomore and junior, received the highest GPA award in the 8th, 10th, and 11th grades, received the highest average awards throughout numerous academic classes, was selected as Most Popular in Senior Who's Who, was elected as class favorite in the 8th - 10th grades, and was chosen as Most Beautiful as an 11th grader and a senior beauty this year.  Melody has been on the cheer team for six years and serves as captain this year.  She has also been on the tennis team for two years and on the softball team this year.  Melody has been a competitive cheerleader for ten years at Powerhouse All-Stars and MS Gym of Dreams.  She is also a member of the Beta Club, Cobra Yearbook Staff, and National Honor Society.  She is a Wesson Chamber Junior Ambassador and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.  Melody plans to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College then further her education at Mississippi State University pursuing a degree in Kinesiology.  She then plans to attend University of Mississippi Medical Center to pursue a career as a Nurse Anesthetist.
